Dr Dan Hegarty

Executive Chairman

Dr Dan Hegarty is the Executive Chairmanand founder of Express Medicals, born in Stepney (East London), Dan attended St Edmund Hall, Oxford University, where he obtained a degree in French and Modern History.  Upon graduating he was recruited by Unilever onto its graduate management training programme and seemed destined to become a marketing professional.  However, one year later Dan followed his dream of becoming a doctor and entered medical training at Guys Hospital, London University.

Dan worked in London hospitals for eight years and general practice for three, Dan became a member of the Royal college of General Practitioners and also obtained a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology and child health. 

In 1996 Dan’s career took a further turn when he created Express Medicals, combining his love of medicine, with his interest in business. On obtaining his diploma in occupational medicine, Dan later co-authored “A Practical Guide to Drug and Alcohol Testing” –

In Dan’s spare time, he enjoys the simple pleasures in life, spending time with family and friends, walking, movies and holidays.
