Express Medicals supports Wythenshawe Weightlifting Club in club renovation

Express Medicals is pleased to be supporting the Wythenshawe Weightlifting Club, a local club based in Manchester, with some improvements to their training facilities.

Express Medicals is one of the UK’s leading independent occupational health companies with over 23 years’ experience providing medical testing, drug and alcohol testing and wellbeing services. We have 15 clinics across the UK, one of which is based in at Universal Square in Devonshire Street North, Manchester.

The donation provided to Wythenshawe Weightlifting Club is part of Express Medicals ongoing commitment to supporting the local community, particularly younger generations in keeping fit and healthy.

Wythenshawe Weightlifting Club is a local ‘not for profit’ weightlifting club with a proud history of producing British Commonwealth and Olympic medallists. The club encourages members to improve and maintain their physical fitness. Furthermore, the club harnesses the power and discipline of this sport to inspire and motivate individuals to achieve greater successes in their wider lives.

Express Medicals CEO Dr Dan Hegarty said “EML is privileged to give support to this inspirational community-based weightlifting club. We are excited to be associated with the club’s remarkable success stories. From a very humble site with basic facilities, the club’s trainers create a wonderful and nourishing environment that literally breeds champions!

I was inspired by my recent visit to the club and found a remarkably happy and dynamic atmosphere.

We look forward to witnessing may future successes at the Wythenshawe Weightlifting Club.

Simon Davis shared his thanks “With the generous support from Express Medicals we are now able to offer our training programme to even more talented youths from the Manchester area.  We will use this opportunity to build on our past success and bring the fun and discipline of sport to those who most need it. Thanks, Express Medicals, this will really make a difference!”
