Drug and Alcohol Collector

Express Medicals PLC are looking for Drug and Alcohol Collectors in the Midlands.

Main purpose of this position:

Work remotely to undertake sample collections (breath, urine, saliva, and hair) for drug and alcohol (DOA) analysis. Samples to be collected under the strict chain-of-custody protocols for laboratory analysis. POCTs [Point of Care Tests] will also be used.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Conduct DOA sample collections at Express Medicals clinics and at client sites.

  • To provide availability to attend collections during the day, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays in line with business needs.

  • Must be available to participate in a 24-hour rota which services clients 7 days per week and 365 days per year.

  • Respond to calls immediately and arrive on site within 2 hours when required during the day, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

  • Ensure accuracy in completion of all paperwork. Follow guidelines and all relevant protocol in relation to the Chain of Custody process.

  • Respond to all reasonable needs and expectations of customers in order to enhance the customer experience.

  • To undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the company [e.g.: ensuring re stocking kits & consumables, assisting with relevant administration] to support its smooth running.

  • Safely store stock and equipment at home.

  • To maintain a professional code of conduct with respect to behaviour and dress code.

  • Draw attention to any defects in the service and put forward suggestions for improvements and innovations.

  • To support the development of the service through completing any required training and attending team meetings as required by the company.

Previous experience as a collector is desirable, but not essential. Training will be given.

Ideal candidate will:

  • Good written and spoken English.

  • Good communication skills, especially when undertaking collections and dealing with clients.

  • Must be flexible in attitude and capable of following set processes and procedures with a focus upon accuracy.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Able to work unsupervised and to prioritise workload.

  • The ability to work under pressure/ problem solving.

  • Must own car, have a driving licence and be insured for business-related driving.
